Your Life: The Story of You
At some point no matter what you are going through, it will eventually become just a story, your story. Your life is the story of you. You are writing the story of your life, right now. The story of you is made up of the decisions you make. Of course things happen to you that are outside of your control. Those events are part of your story. They will even shape your story. But, the story of you is the accumulation of choices you make.
Joseph was a man who wrote his story differently than most people. He decided that he would not write his story on his own. He wanted God to be the author of his story. And it was not that everything went well in his life. He was kicked out of his family. When he rose to leadership, he chose well but was punished in spite of it. He could have let the prison of discouragement determine his destiny. He could have allowed success to write a different outcome. He could have allowed revenge be his last legacy. His circumstances could have controlled his story, but they didn’t. Joseph chose to write a different kind of story, a really good story.
What kind of story are you writing? What choices are you making? When I return from rest and renewal this summer, I will begin a new series called “Your Life: the Story of You.” We will explore the life of Joseph and see how he wrote a different kind of story. A story with the Power of One Life.
