8.2 - When you don’t understand God

Scripture Reading: Isaiah 55:6-9

Reflection: There is a difference between asking God questions and putting God on trial. Scripture is full of people who wrestled with Him, cried out to Him, and admitted they did not understand. God is not threatened by your questions. But sometimes a question becomes a demand: “God, unless You make sense to me, I will not trust You.” Isaiah reminds you that God is not a smarter version of you. His perspective is greater than yours. That means there will be moments when you reach the edge of what you can understand. Faith does not require pretending those moments are easy. It does require remembering which one of you is God. When something about Him troubles you, bring the question. Wrestle. Study. Pray. But leave room for the possibility that the problem is not God’s wisdom. It may be the limits of your own ability to see what He sees.
