1.4 - Thursday: Look at Jesus
Scripture Reading: John 14:7-11
Reflection:
When questions about God begin to pile up, your instinct is often to search for explanations. Jesus offers something even better. He offers Himself. If you want to know what God is like, look at Jesus. Watch Him welcome children. Watch Him forgive failures. Watch Him touch people everyone else avoided. Watch Him weep with grieving friends. Watch Him confront hypocrisy while extending grace to sinners. Every page of the Gospels corrects false assumptions about the Father’s heart. You may still have questions that remain unanswered. You may still wrestle with mysteries you cannot explain. But you no longer have to wonder whether God is compassionate, patient, or trustworthy. Jesus has already answered those questions. Whenever your mind starts imagining a version of God that leaves you fearful or hopeless, return to the Gospels. Let Christ become the lens through which every other question is viewed.
Application Question:
What story from Jesus’ life most challenges the picture of God you’ve carried, and why does that story affect you so deeply?
