6.4 - You don’t read alone

Scripture Reading: 1 John 2:20-29

Reflection:

God never intended you to read Scripture alone with nothing but your own understanding. He has given you His Spirit, and He has placed you among His people. That doesn’t mean every interpretation that pops into your mind came from God. You still bring assumptions, experiences, preferences, and blind spots to the page. So do the people around you. Humility matters. You can open Scripture, pray, study, listen to the Spirit, learn from others, and still admit that you may not see everything perfectly. That posture is not weakness. It is wisdom. You don’t need a pastor, scholar, or spiritual expert with secret access to God before you can open the Bible yourself. If you belong to Jesus, His Spirit is with you. Today, read slowly. Ask God for wisdom. Be willing to learn. And hold your conclusions with enough humility to keep listening to God and to His people.
