7.1 - Start with what is true

Scripture Reading: Colossians 2:13-14; 3:1-4

Reflection: You may have walked away from Sunday thinking about everything you still need to change. Paul begins elsewhere. Before he tells you what to put to death or what to put on, he reminds you what Jesus has done. You were dead, and God made you alive. Your debt was canceled. Your life is hidden with Christ. Spiritual growth does not begin with proving yourself to God. It begins with remembering what is already true because of Jesus. When you forget that foundation, every failure can feel like evidence that God is disappointed with you. Every good week can become evidence that you earned His approval. Neither is the gospel. You are learning to live from a new reality. Today, before you focus on what needs to change, spend quiet minutes remembering what has already changed. You truly belong to Christ. Start there, and let everything else grow from there.

Application Question: What would change about the way you approach your struggles today if you really believed you were starting from what Christ has already done rather than trying to earn what He has already given?
