2.4 - Bringing Heaven Here
Scripture Reading: Matthew 6:9-13
Reflection: Jesus never taught His followers to pray, "Get me out of here." Instead, He taught them to pray, "Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." That prayer changes how you see ordinary moments. Every act of forgiveness pushes back against bitterness. Every choice to serve instead of demand reflects the character of God's Kingdom. Every word of encouragement reminds someone that darkness doesn't win forever. You won't build heaven on earth by your own effort, but you can become a faithful preview of the world Jesus is bringing. That's what discipleship looks like. It isn't waiting passively for heaven someday. It's participating in God's restoring work today. Your neighborhood, workplace, family, and friendships become places where people catch glimpses of God's coming Kingdom. Small acts of faithfulness matter because they point beyond themselves to the King who makes all things new for everyone.
Application Question:
Who in your life needs to experience a small glimpse of God's Kingdom through your words or actions today?
